St Andrews Guest House and Fort William History

St Andrews was built in 1880 and is a listed building. It was the Rectory and Choir School for St Andrews Church. Eventually the burden of supporting the Choir School became too heavy for the congregation and the Church was compelled to close the school down. The building was divided into two dwelling houses and sold in 1915.

The East side of the building has been the family home of Ian and Marion Wynne since 1964. Their son Tom and his wife bought the West side in 1992 and in the year 2000 both houses have been reconnected by the original adjoining door to make one property again.

The building has many attractive features including stained glass windows, ornately carved sandstone and polished granite.
